10 best designer collaborations with H&M

Before the Isabel Marant pour H&M Collection let’s just make a short brief and remember the best 10 collaborations of H&M with 10 fabulous designers. Enjoy it!

1.Karl Lagerfeld
First collaboration between H&M and a designer was with Karl Lagerfeld. He managed to put his signature on the items: minimalist, edgy, a little bit rock, white, black, leather – all these with a serious Karl attitude made the entire collection unique and memorable. We chose the metallic collar and the leather gloves as the hottest pieces of this collaboration.
2.Viktor & Rolf
Viktor & Rolf occupied the third place in the H&M designer collaboration’s archive. They were building it as a fashion love story. The colors are neutral and a little bit “dusty”. This collection is a basic one with everyday pieces like jeans, tops, knits, jackets and coats. Couldn’t miss the evening cocktail dresses and as a surprise they made a unisex black tuxedo which can be worn with a colorful bow.Amazing!

3.Roberto Cavalli
The fabulous campaign for his collaboration with H&M made us to “rawwwr” and to “party like animals”. The most used is gold and as well the prints – tribal, leopard , and zebra. The feminine items, the dresses,  made from fringes, sequins and silk are accessorized with big round earrings. Our favorite was a 20’s gold flapper which had a prototype for Kylie Minogue.

4.Matthew Williamson
Matthew Williamson and his exotic prints were the missing pieces in H&M stores. The strong urban collection focused on the brand symbols and shapes. Color, color, color and again color is one of the defining aspects of his signature. The leather, cotton and a very fine silk together with a palette of blues and emerald invaded this collaboration . The most wanted product was the dress with the peacock motif.
5.Jimmy Choo
Luxury. This big world can describe so easily this collection. Because not many of us can afford a Choo pair, this collaboration has arisen in the right moment. All the glamorous and rockish shoes  made lots of women to fell in love again and again. Jimmy Choo used studs, prints and a lot of red to give the air of a rebel girl. The leather over-the-knee-boots fit perfectly with a colorful fur and a drop of perfume.

6.Sonia Rykiel
Paris is all that you need. In this collaboration Sonia chose Paris as a starting point. She brang a romantic and playful breath to this new and young collection. The fun, filled with bright pink and yellow along with black and white pieces and sparkling rhinestones were able to give life to each item. She printed the letter “R” on every item as a trademark of herself. Basque was our favorite and we love to wear while we walk on Champs Elysees.

7.Lanvin
As we know Albert Elbaz always had inspirational and unique ideas. But with this H&M collection he managed to bring it at a high level. The one-shoulders-voluminous dresses were the stars of this collection. A lot of colors like red, pink, yellow, blue pervaded all the items and the H&M spirit. The zebra print coat was perfectly attached to a short skirt and some pointy – toed heels and the red ballerina dress to a elegant and fabulous gentleman.

8.Versace
The ad video was enough to make an opinion about the collection.  Donatella  brought back from the archives, as well as from more recent collections, some of the icons of Versace, such as the bright prints, the Greek key and daring cuts.
All the craziness with classy pieces like tuxedo jackets, tailored trousers, and awesome pleated shorts with a beaded side stripe manages to balance this collection and called “Fashion with a capital F”. If you ask yourself which was the most disastrous – in a good way –  item, we can easily name it: the pink dress with studs.
9.Marni
After the Versace craze, Marni collaboration was knocking at the door with silky dresses and frilly cardigans, mega prints power including graphic polka dots, exotic floras, and mixed patterns. Consuelo Castiglioni also made a slew of statement jewelry like extra-bold necklaces, bright and chunky bracelets, and sparkling tie-on collars. As a “wow” piece we stop at the black and large coat with grey dots.

10.Maison Martin Margiela
The designer collaboration, Maison Martin Margiela for H&M was magical and unique. The lines and colors were the same : clean , modest and very pale. The item that shocked was the nude blouse with a black bra on. From personal experience we can tell you that this piece will make you different and out of the crowd.
