How to start your first day in Paris during fashion week? Very simple. Ignore the rain, enjoy the Pollini by Nicholas Kirkwood gift you’ve just received in your hotel room, dress up in a hurry and go to Le Bristol hotel to discover the fall-winter 2014 collection. This season Pollini continues to expand on its daytime offering, a natural progression for the brand known for its modern approach to wearable fashion and its aesthetic for practical yet polished footwear.
The British designer takes inspiration from men’s sportswear styling looking to classic American team-sports with reference to vintage baseball uniforms, varsity and collegiate looks, and playing on the brand’s signature androgynous styling.
Trademark geometric patterns and monochrome colour-ways are ever present, and seen on the heel and upper treatments, a trait carried on from season to season. The colour palette, not unlike the silhouettes, has a sporty feel with navy blue, off-white and black. These colours teamed with burgundy and leather-brown pay homage to sports attire and are finished with Pollini’s brand mark of stitched detail and custom-made hard-wear.
For us the Pollini by Nicholas Kirkwood collection was a surprise and we are more than excited to wear the new FW items!
