Spring Trends

Spring is all about updating your look and your wardrobe. And since the trends are so vast, you can easily adapt them to your fabulous personality. There is something in the air that is making us want to walk on alleys full of cherry blossom tries, on empty beaches with blue waters, something that make us dreaming about holidays, love and summer plans. And this special something is just the spring magic. And because every new beginning needs some magic dust, it’s a must to sprinkle some in our wardrobes too and purchase new items. We started our spring shopping session in Marks&Spencer store….\n

LULU FROST – the jewelry frost

We discovered Lulu Frost years ago, but when we met Lisa few months ago we fell in love with her and her magic jewelry pieces. We invite you to discover all the little details about this fabulous brand… LULU FROST IS A JEWELRY BRAND FOUNDED IN NEW YORK CITY IN 2004 BY DESIGNER LISA SALZER. THE FROST FAMILY, LED BY LISA’S MATERNAL GRANDMOTHER ELIZABETH ROCK FROST, HAS BEEN INVOLVED IN THE ESTATE JEWELRY BUSINESS FOR GENERATIONS. LISA’S WORK BLENDS ANTIQUE, VINTAGE AND MODERN ELEMENTS TO REINVENT TIMELESS CLASSICS.When did you start your business and which was your first collection? I began Lulu Frost in the winter of 2004 while a senior at Dartmouth College in New Hampshire. I was making pieces on my dining room table and my girlfriends were kind enough to support me in the very beginning. My first collection was created with wonderful found vintage objects from the antique markets around my school. What exactly inspires you?I’m endlessly inspired, whether by a recent vacation or my 15 minute walk to the office every morning.  I make sure to keep my eyes open and take in the beauty of my surroundings, wherever that may be at the time.  Lulu Frost name has a meaning? Lulu is my childhood nickname and Frost belongs to my grandmother, Elizabeth Rock Frost, who was in the estate jewelry business for years. Do you have a favorite Lulu Frost item?I love the Tuileries necklace from our Neon Baroque collection. Pearls are huge for spring and I can easily layer this piece with my other jewels. What do you love to create more? Which one is the best seller? We are known and loved for our statement necklaces, and they tend to be the preeminent best-sellers.  Personally, I need them all, from earrings to rings to bracelets to necklaces!  I tend to wear big earrings almost every day and a more delicate necklace or two. I enjoy the entire design process regardless of category, but I especially cherish the projects in which I transform a client’s family heirloom into something modern and wearable. The whole experience of discovery and understanding the story behind that client’s vintage treasure is so meaningful. What materials do you use?We use a variety of materials from glass to resin but we are most known for our chunky brass chains and crystal components. The woman who wears Lulu Frost is….. …feminine and sexy while maintaining her class and sophistication. The woman who wears Lulu Frost carries herself with confidence, unconcerned with age when it comes to beauty.  Tell us the story behind your new collection Neon BaroqueI’ve always been inspired by Sofia Coppola’s film Marie Antoinette – all of the textures and sumptuous colors are so fun and light-hearted. The meaning of “Neon Baroque” also lends itself to the aesthetic we are known for. “Neon” references the new while “baroque” references the old, which is what we do at Lulu – mix the old and new. The entire collection is inspired by vintage pieces, with layers of pearls, glass and hand-painted components to modernize. More geometric elements add a punk twist to an otherwise feminine and sweet collection. Tell us some little details about you…Born in:  Bethpage, NYFavorite city: NYCFavorite movie: Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon or Welcome to the DollhouseFavorite book: currently really enjoying Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand Favorite designer: Alber Elbaz of Lanvin Favorite (online) shop:  Net-a-Porter Favorite food: cheeseYour guilty pleasure: eating cheeseFavorite place in NY – My apartmentFavorite place outside NY – Sag HarborWhat is your morning daily habit – Starbucks soy latte to have during the walk to my officeWhat is your biggest dream ever – to have a happy and healthy family….\n
